Mission and Vision
Wiregrass Warriors (WW) is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2020 in the Wiregrass region of Alabama by James Williams, a retired special operations veteran. Because we understand the complexities of soldiers reintegrating into a civilian society after coming home from war, and the burden this can place not only on the veteran but their family as well, WW has made it OUR MISSION to support veterans suffering from PTSD, depression, and/or addiction, due to combat related trauma, FIGHT FORWARD through riding dirt bikes and encouraging healthy fellowship with peers. OUR VISION to help in the rehabilitation process involves seeking out combat veterans who are suffering from the consequences of war and providing environments where, through the power of relationships, conversation, and motocross training and racing, there is opportunity to heal. While we do not think we can, and/or intend to, replace any sort of behavioral health therapy these vet might need, we do understand that community is a key component in a person's healing and that they can't and shouldn't do life alone. Therefore, we are here to help in this aspect of the healing process. OUR GOAL is to provide a safe environment where vets can come out and decompress, share stories, build relationships and bond with their children. Motocross is our avenue and Millsaps Training Facility is our area of operations. While we have found throttle therapy to be therapeutic, we are not limiting our services to riding. Our site offers fishing, camping, and upon completion, woods riding and archery.
